About JuniorMarkets
JuniorMarkets.com is a financial education website that was built to help students and early professionals navigate banking recruitment, while also building a strong foundation in investing, the stock market, and retirement planning. The site breaks down the recruiting process for roles in investment banking and related finance careers, explaining what actually matters, how to prepare, and how to stand out coming from non-traditional backgrounds.
Beyond recruitment, JuniorMarkets provides clear, practical education on personal finance and investing, from choosing the right accounts and learning how to invest to understanding long-term wealth and retirement planning. Everything is written in a straightforward, no-fluff way that explains not just what to do, but why it matters, including the benefits, downsides, and tradeoffs of different decisions. The goal is to be the honest, step-by-step guide I wish I had when I was learning both how to break into finance and how to manage money with confidence.

About JuniorMarkets
The story of the owner
Hello, my name is Carter, and I am the owner and operator of JuniorMarkets. I am well on my way to a finance degree, and I have been nothing short of obsessed with the market for a little over 5 years now. I currently work at a regional boutique investment bank in M&A, previously interned in wealth management at a 1.5 trillion-dollar firm, and have an upper-middle-market TMT investment banking internship lined up for next summer. Coming from a non-target school, I’ve completed 10+ super days, 40+ round interview processes, sent 1,000+ cold emails, and held 100+ coffee chats to earn offers from boutique through UMM firms in cities like Chicago and Charlotte. I’ve also served as a senior analyst in my college’s Student Managed Investment Fund and now act as interview chair and coach for Alpha Kappa Psi (Professional business fraternity), helping students prepare for banking, valuation, and capital markets roles at firms like Houlihan Lokey, Wells Fargo, and EY. I say this not to brag, as anyone can do it (You do not have to be a genius it just takes a lot of work) but to help someone in my shoes understand exactly what you need to know to land the finance role you have always wanted. This website incorporates everything I have learned from personal finances to landing bulge bracket investment banking offers. I hope you can use this website to help find success in your career.

Internship recruitment
I have been in your shoes, and I’ve gone through the exact recruiting process this site is built to help with. I say this because I recently went through the process of cold emails, multiple rounds of interviews, and endless networking and understand exactly what it takes to land the offer. Transferring from a school no one has heard of to a school that might be a semi-target, I didn't understand the amount of work involved in getting one of these internships or full-time roles. I am lucky enough to serve as the interview chair and coach for AKPsi (Professional business fraternity) and help brothers prepare for interviews in roles such as investment banking, portfolio valuation, and capital markets. I started this website because as a teenager and finance student in college, I wanted to learn about the stock market and how it works, how to invest, how to research companies, and how to build an overall understanding of the economic side of the world. This all seemed like a daunting task but after being obsessed with it for years I decided to make this website to share all the beginner and intermediate knowledge I have accumulated. This is a one stop shop website with everything you need to know about the basics in the stock market, investing, and retirement that I wish I had as a college kid going through recruitment. I offer templates, documents, and information on all of the tricks I used to achieve everything listed about in my credentials. Remember that anyone can do this and that I am no smarter than anyone else, I just put in a lot of work to get here. And so can you. So always remember "Why not me."
Investing and retirement
JuniorMarkets was built to simplify the parts of personal finance and investing that most people are expected to “just know,” but are rarely taught clearly. Learning about retirement accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, investing, and long-term wealth building can feel overwhelming, especially when every source gives different advice. This site breaks everything down into the beginner guide I wish I had. It includes what each account is, why it matters, the benefits and downsides, and how to actually use it in real life. JuniorMarkets goes beyond definitions by covering where to invest, how to invest, how to get started with limited money, and how to think about risk and time. It also curates recommended books, podcasts, and tools so you know what’s worth your time and what isn’t. The goal is to give you a clear, practical roadmap for building financial knowledge and confidence without the noise, jargon, or guesswork.
