The Story behind JuniorMarkets
My name is Carter Pengelly, and I built JuniorMarkets after experiencing firsthand how difficult it can be to break into finance without the right guidance.
I began my finance journey at a non-target school, where many students interested in investment banking or private equity struggled to understand the recruiting process. There was very little guidance on resumes, technical preparation, networking, or how the industry actually works.
Like many students, I learned through trial and error. I spent hours researching the recruiting process, sending cold emails, preparing for interviews, and studying technical concepts on my own. Over time, that effort led to opportunities in investment banking and financial services.
But during that process, I realized how confusing and fragmented the path can be for students trying to break into the industry.
JuniorMarkets was created to make that path clearer. The goal is to provide structured resources, practical guidance, and real insights so students can effectively and affordably pursue careers in finance.
